The dotted motifs of much of today’s Aboriginal modern design work has become
the trademark of the contemporary Aboriginal Art movement. Its iconic status
developed from a culture stretching back into the history of an ancient land,
evolving and weaving into desert dreamtime stories. Imagery
of animals and wildlife is often depicted as foot steps and tracks, reflecting
the real life tracks often left in the sands of animals that have passed by.
Other images that are often found in dreamtime stories or are the totem of the
artist can also be depicted in a more recognisable form, sometimes as outlines
of the animal, sometimes in x-ray like forms, often stylised. |
