It was the end of
August 2001, we left Sydney at 5 am in the morning. Our first
morning tea stop was at Moonbi Park and Lookout (just after
Tamworth). As you can see it was a grey cold, windy morning. That's
me waving from the top of the lookout. Driving between Tamworth
and Uralla, the weather was so varied that we witnessed sunshine,
rain, grey sky, blue sky, hail, snow, all within the space of an
hour.
We made it to Inverell by 1 pm. Lunch at Inverell's Australia
Cafe. Meeting up with Dorothy, we booked ourselves into the
caravan park and planned where we would fossick for those illusive
sapphires... |
