There are a number
of places you could fossick depending on what you were hoping to
find, things like grass tone, quartz, soap stone, jelly beans and of
course the sapphire... Having picked up a map from the
Inverell Tourist Centre, we decided we needed tools, so we brought
one set of sieves, rubber boots, spade and rubber gloves. Of course
you could hire these, and of course this was not enough for the
three of us and we ended up buying additional rubber boots, gloves
etc, as well as extra things like a bucket. Another place we went to was
Poolbrook Gems
Fossicking Park. This is private property and bookings are
essential. The owners are very friendly and helpful. |
