• Lightning Ridge

	We were now headed towards Lightning Ridge and came across the ‘Tree of Despair’. Lightning Ridge... Population unknown...? We stayed at the Tram-O-Tel: St Kilda Beach.
	We went to The Big Opal, where they had underground tours. Troy our friendly manager did a presentation on cutting and polishing the opal. Afterwards, we could spec on the mullock heaps outside.
