Bloodwort Family • Family Haemodoraceae
Haemodoraceae is a relative small family of perennial herbs with rhizomes, bulbs or tubers. There are 14 genera with some 100 species that occur mainly in Africa, Australia and New Guinea.

The family is sometimes known as the ‘Bloodwort family’. Among the genera is included Anigozanthos, more commonly known as the ‘Kangaroo Paw’.
