Weeping Bottlebrush • Callistemon viminalis

One of the striking shrubs and trees seen throughout Australia are the bright red bottlebrushes.

Easily identifiable by the bright red 'bottlebrush' shaped flower spikes, the 'Weeping Bottlebrush' is one of the most widely cultivated of all bottlebrushes, found in many Australian town and city streetscape plantings.

Whilst not native of Central Australia, they can be seen as established plantings in Alice Springs, with some well established growing into trees.
