Most of the sites offer a look at their current wines, as well as some general information, including the history of the vineyards and the families involved.

• There is ‘The Retreat’ with 5 bdrms (2 with ensuites), 3 with lake views and 2 with orchard views. Visitors staying at ‘The Retreat’ will have full use of the 125 acre property. There is also the ‘Cellar Door’, however this is not currently open to the public, check the website for more details and their current labels.

• At last look the site was under construction, but the cellar door is open. Established in 1971 with its first vintage in 1974, Botobolar is Australia’s oldest organic vineyard.

• With a lineage dating back to 1838, this 25 year-old vineyard is still producing award-winning reds, whites and fortifieds.

Prince of Orange Wines

• Established in 1995 on an undeveloped block on the foot hills of the extinct Mt Canobolas. The rich weathered volcanic and basalt soils, together with the altitude, allows a long ripening period to enhance the tropical flavours of the Sauvignon Blanc and the fresh berries and soft tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Located in Orange this vibrant and distinctive cool climate wine district is about 3.5 hours west of Sydney, and has many vineyards planted above 600m in altitude. See website about the Cellar Door and other special events.

• Turner’s Vineyard is set amongst the magnificent rolling countryside of the Central Tablelands in one of the fastest grape growing regions west of the Blue Mountains. A scenic three and a half hour drive from Sydney, we are situated on the eastern outskirts of Orange, on the Sydney Road, which ensures peace and tranquillity, yet only a few minutes drive from the central business district.

The Vineyard has a great deal to offer with a five star A la Carte Restaurant and The Vineyard Caf้ each offering open-air terraces with uninterrupted views across the breath-taking vineyard.

Our Wine Tasting and Museum Complex opens weekends and by appointment, however, we do offer Wine tasting and Cellar Door sales 7 days a week.

• Word of Mouth Wines (WOM) established in 2003, is an exciting collaboration between two neighbours with existing vineyards on the slopes of Mt Canobolas at a cool 1,000 metres above sea level over looking the township of Orange. The two vineyards share a common boundary, soil types, climate and rainfall.

The Riverina is a must visit for those interested in wines with a diverse range of quality wines coming from this region, and with Griffith and Leeton being the main production centres. You have more then a dozen wineries to choose from a diverse range of wines including Shiraz, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Tempranillo, Durif or Tyrian.

• Located in the Riverina region, Murrin Bridge is Australia's first Aboriginal owned and managed vineyard and wine producer. The first planting was “ten acres” of Shiraz. The first bottle of Murrin Bridge Shiraz was donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and auctioned at Moomba in the South Australian Gas Fields, fetching $360. Murrin Bridge is so named because it is where there is a “bridge” over the Lachlan River upstream of the “Murrin Bend”.

• Family owned boutique winery on 20 acres of vineyard. Visitors can enjoy leisurely farm walks including the ‘Wetland Walk’. There are also farm animals, as well as a viewing of the afternoon milking in the ‘Rotary Cow Dairy’. A delicious homestyle lunch is available in the ‘Bails’ Restaurant, set within the historic 1860’s Milking Bails. And, of course, a guided tasting of wines. Cellar door open every day. Only 5 minutes from Bega, 25 minutes from Merimbula and Tathra.
