Map Resources & Links Australia |
|
As this site expands, a variety of maps will be made available, check out the
Map menu. Where we find great maps on-line, we will
endeavour to provide a link to that map. Maps of the various regions of
Australia are sometimes available from local bookshops, and newsagencies within
the region. Other resources for maps include the various Australian motoring
associations, and possibly your state/territory transport body. Check out
websites for the area you are visiting, as they may offer local maps of your
destinations. Wildlife Services will have maps of the national parks. You should
also visit the local tourist and information centres at your destination who
will have maps or direct you to where you can purchase maps of the area.
|
|
|
Another great resource for journey planners and maps are your
motoring associations,
most should have an online travel planner functionality, although some will
require you be a member of the association. |

Australian Weather and Storm Chasing
Author Michael Thompson sharing his
love and interest in weather - I have been storm chasing and snow chasing since
getting my car licence back in 1976. Back then supercells, wall clouds and inflow
bands were unheard of in Australia. In fact I chased for hail, flash flooding
and lightning shows rather than tornadoes, wall clouds or funnels.

and other significant events in Australia and nearby regions capture the
attention of the nation and the world. Events such as the Dust storm (23 Oct
2002), NSW bushfires (Dec 2001- Jan 2002), and the NSW floodwaters (Nov 2000)
are captured here in the satellite imagery.
