Hatters Hideout RENT-A-CAVE
• BELL, NSW
• Details: The
Lodge sleeps 8 in luxury with 3 king size bedrooms, loft, 2 lounge areas, 2
bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Relax by the wood fire as you gaze
across wilderness.
All of this set on a magical 8 acres of diverse nature reserve with a variety of
ecosystems from ridge top to rainforest. Custom designed as an environmental
retreat for small groups wanting privacy while exploring and learning of the
unique natural wonders that make the Blue Mountains a World Heritage Area.
Hatters Hideout has panoramic views across the World Heritage Area, Wollangambe
Wilderness, Mount Wilson and Wollemi National Park, home of the prehistoric
wollemi pine.
Set amidst towering escarpments, the Hat Cave is a huge sandstone cathedral,
with superb acoustics. It has been sculpted by nature to provide an ideal
bushland retreat for modern cave dwellers (troglodytes). It has been carefully
developed using minimal impact construction and facilities to ensure the
environment remains as pristine as possible for future generations to enjoy.
Access is easy via a 300m walking track with numerous seats to absorb the
bushland surrounds. The 25 metre high arched opening faces north west with wind
and weather protection by a grove of coachwood trees and 30 metre tall carved
rock columns known locally as "pagodas", a predominant feature in the primitive
landscape. Facilities include:- Open fire with kindling and 20kg wood; Gas
barbecue; icebox; tables and chairs; sleeping swags; Solar powered lights etc.
Activities at Hatters Hideout are tailored to individual client desires. Choose
from a concert of indigenous music and stories, on-site eco tours, rocksport,

Hatters Hideout - Lyre's Loft
• BELL, NSW
• Details: An
escape to Lyre's Loft is easy!! Only 2 hours from Sydney via the M4 through
Katoomba, or (my preference) up the Bell's Line of Road via Richmond, the
"wild-side" of the Blue Mountains, you enter the realm of the lyrebird.
At 1100 metres high, with a spectacular view into a deep, rainforested mountain
gorge, the symphony of bush-sounds, conducted by the lyre bird with backing from
his orchestra, will override any need for CD's and city cacophonies.
Totally relax and unwind in a very comfortable 2 bedroom home that has been
recently renovated and furnished, and has the commanding views that you expect
of a classic mountain retreat; views where you can sit in comfort and watch the
everchanging spectacle of light playing over rugged cliffs and distant valleys.
Don't just come to the Blue Mountains... become a part of their grandeur... in
total comfort at Lyre's Loft.
Bell is a very small town (no shops... no traffic lights!) 10km from Mount
Victoria, 20km from Blackheath, Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens or Lithgow. All of the
major attractions of the Blue Mountains are within a 30 minute scenic drive.
At 1100 metres above sea level, the climate is what you would expect of the Blue
Mountains.... exhilarating in its everchanging moods." If you don't like the
weather up here..... then wait a minute..."; there is no better place to watch
the weather changing without leaving the comfort of your arm chair.
Lyre's Loft occupies 29 acres encompassing the headwaters of Monkey Creek with
ridge top mountain ash forest, windswept heath and deep pockets of cool
temperate rainforest. About 2 acres above the home have been extensively planted
with exotic trees and shrubs, creating sensational seasonal contrasts with
native vegetation as a background.
