If you're planning to use the wood barbecues, you'll need to bring your own firewood. This campground is about 6 km before the Mount Kaputar summit on the main access road.

Camping areas are also located at Durras South, Durras North, Durras Lake and Merry Beach. Due to the fragile nature of beaches within the park and their associated sand-dunes and headlands, camping is prohibited in these areas. Bush camping in Murramarang NP is only permitted 100 m away from any road, walking track or parking area. Contact the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service for details.

Midginbil Hill is ideal for a nature based camping trip, weekend getaway or school holiday break, conference or group event, or school group camp. • Pets: strictly no pets are permitted.

Myall Lakes National Park • Accommodation: there are about 350 camping sites located throughout the park. Some campsites are suitable for caravans, camper trailers and camping beside your vehicle. Others sites are not suitable for caravans or camper trailers. • Facilities: there are pit/composting toilets, electric/gas BBQs. Wood fires are only permitted at some camping areas (check with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service) and you will need to bring your firewood. You will also need to bring your own drinking water. • Details: the route includes unpaved roads, suitable for standard 2WD cars (check the NSW National Park website to confirm). Visit the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service for their current map showing the designated camping grounds in the park (760kb pdf).
Shelley Beach • Details: accessible by boat or foot only.
Sunnyside • Details: accessible by 4WD or boat only.
Backpack Camping • Details: backpack camping is available in some areas that are inaccessible by vehicle (check with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service for details). There are usually no facilities, and you need to take your own drinking water and a fuel stove. Please ensure you take everything including your rubbish with you. When backpack camping, ensure that you are more than 200 m from any body of water (river or lake), public road, beach or dune. Some camping grounds are closed during certain off-peak periods for essential park maintenance. Contact the NPWS offices at Great Lakes (Pacific Palms) or Nelson Bay.
