Kosciuszko National Park is synonymous with the Snowy Mountains and is home to the highest mountain in Australia.

Car-based camping areas with fireplaces and toilets are provided along major roads throughout the park, including the Alpine Way, the Khancoban-Cabramurra Road (which is is closed during winter), the Snowy Mountains Highway, Elliot Way and Barry Way. A vehicle entry fee applies year round on the Kosciuszko Road and Alpine Way and during winter at Mount Selwyn. Vehicles and horses are not permitted on the park’s wilderness area. You can also purchase yearly passes from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service that give you access to all of NSW national parks.
