Cabramurra is Australias highest town (1,488 m) having been built by the
Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Authority as a base for the northern
administration of the scheme. It has accommodation and some facilities and
is close to the Selwyn Snowfields and underground tours of Tumut 2
Power Station on the Elliot Way. Located on the scenic
Khancoban-Cabramurra Road, that
leads on pass the Selwyn Snowfields
and Kiandra, which is located at the
intersection of the Snowy Mountains Highway and the Cabramurra Road. Another 37
km on takes you to
Adaminaby.
