Young in the West. With the eight councils Boorowa,
Eastern Capital City Region, Greater Argyle, Greater Queanbeyan, Upper Lachlan,
Yass Valley, Young, Wingecarribee and the active participation of the
Australian Capital Territory, there is much
to see and do for the visitor. As well as the popular Southern Highlands with
its gardens, villages and endless variety of accommodation, there are national
parks and natural areas of Bungonia, the coastal escarpment, Wombeyan and Wee
Jasper offering much for those into nature and adventure. For the wine lover,
the three wine regions include the Canberra Region, Southern Highlands and the
Hilltops Region. There are major fruit areas, with Young annual Cherry Festival.
