Located only
17 km south of the Sydney GPO on the shores of Kogarah Bay, access via
the Princes Hwy, turn off at Carwar Ave and follow the road to the car
park. William Carss, who the park is named after, helped to build many
of Sydney's early homes, including Lyndhurst in Glebe. Carss moved to
Carss Point in the mid 1850s, where he built a stone cottage on a rocky
outcrop in 1865, where he was to live until his death in 1878. There
is an outdoor Olympic-size swimming pool and a protected tidal swimming
area, great picnic facilities and bushland.
