Located on the banks of the Manning River, Cundletown was once one of the
major centres during the times when the river was the main access route.
Today, it is the main centre for those seeking historical information about
the region, with many old buildings and squares still in existence and home to
the Melvie Chick Historical Museum.
The word Cundle is said to be an aboriginal word for a plant that is know as
Cockspur and was
originally Cundel Cundel.
