During the summer months you can enjoy mountain biking,
water-skiing, and number of walks to soak up the landscape and
wildlife.The original town of Jindabyne was relocated in the
1960's when the Snowy River was dammed as part of the Snowy
Mountains Scheme. Some of the remains of the old town can
occasionally be glimpsed when the level of Lake Jindabyne is low. To
get a good view over the lake, head for Waste Point Lookout on the
Kosciuszko Road.
Attractions include Jindabyne Dam Wall,
Kosciuszko
National Park, trout fishing, water sports, and horse riding. Include
Jindabyne if you are touring the area by car, or just passing through on your
way to Melbourne or Sydney. Pick up the Kosciuszko Alpine Way touring map and
the NPWS Kosciuszko Today from the local visitor centre.
