Part of the Mid North Coast, Nambucca Heads and the Nambucca Valley encompass
over twenty kilometres of coastline, picturesque waterways, rainforest, pretty
beaches and historic towns. As well as the history, visitors can immerse
themselves in the diverse artistic culture, explore the many museums and
galleries. Popular towns in the Nambucca Valley include Nambucca Heads,
Macksville, Scotts Head, Bowraville, Valla, Taylors Arm, Warrell Creek, and
Congarinni.

The museum houses a
comprehensive collection that document the history of the Nambucca Valley. From
photographs, documents and artifacts relating to the early timber industry,
shipping, shipwrecks, agricultural tools and the Royal Tar expedition to
Paraguay. There is the 'Boulton' china and ceramics collection, needlework and
garments, and memorabilia of early Australian households. There is display on
the Gumbaynggirr people.

Home to the largest collection
of Navy, Army and Airforce artefacts on the Mid North Coast. The museum is a
tribute to local men and women, in remembrance for the sacrifices they made.
Each conflict era is displayed in individual sections/rooms, with audio visual
representation. There are displays of vehicles, guns, uniforms, weapons, swords,
trench art, relics, photos and medals.

Step back to a time when
Bowraville was a major centre on the Mid North Coast. This hands on museum has
many displays which depict the life and times of the area and its heritage. As
well as thousands of objects of interest, there are rooms dedicated to cedar
getting, pioneer living, and displays of agricultural machinery, fashion,
furniture, china, dolls, geological specimens and medical equipment. There is
also a working blacksmiths shop and saddlery and a church.

A replica pioneers cottage,
with barn and garden, showing the life of a pioneering family. The Museum
includes a lockup, a cream shed and a timber cutters bark hut. The Shed and
Annexe contain farming and timber industry machinery, household items,
photographs maps, history and reference books, and a pioneer wall commemorating
early settlers and those who made a significant contribution to the area.
