Part of Sydneys northern beaches and north of Collaroy,
Narrabeen is a broad 3 km stretch of beach that is known as one of the great surf breaks
in the world. There are actually four beaches along the coastal stretch,
including North Narrabeen, Narrabeen, South Narrabeen and Collaroy Beaches. Most
surfing competitions are held on the North Narrabeen Beach. The area also encompasses Narrabeen Lakes, which is
popular for a number of aquatic recreation such as swimming, fishing and all
kinds of boating activities including sailing, kayaking, canoeing and rowing.
The lake is also surrounded by a number of parks and reserves offering great
walking tracks that take in the water edge. The Lake empties into
the sea at the north end of Narrabeen Beach. A public caravan is located on the
north bank of the outlet of Narrabeen Lake. The lake foreshore is also the
perfect spot for hosting the monthly Narrabeen Village Market at Berry Reserve.
This idyllic natural setting on the Narrabeen Lagoon foreshore is hugely popular
with locals and visitors.
