Old Bar - Cities, Towns and Localities
Only 15 km south-east of Taree, is the coastal village of Old Bar. Located on the southern entrance to the Manning River and in the Manning Valley region, it has a good surfing beach, estuary fishing, good picnic areas, and offers an idyllic place to relax and visit the surrounding areas.

Saltwater and Manning Point are nearby, with Saltwater Beach, a popular local surfing destination, and there is a safe lagoon for young ones. Manning Point, on the Manning River estuary, is also a great place for surfing, swimming and fishing.

Historic Airstrip
• Old Bar airstrip is heritage listed, being officially reopened as an airstrip in April 2000. It’s heritage significance is the fact that famous aviators such as Charles Kingsford Smith and Nancy Bird Walton used the airstrip during their early pioneering flights. There are regular aviation weekends held at the airstrip to mark its heritage significance.
