There is much to see and do in the region, such
as the fantastic 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside
from Mount Canobolas. As well as Mount Canobolas and Lake Canobolas,
attractions include the Orange City Heritage Trail that takes in the
Holy Trinity Church of Orange (1879) and Duntryleague
(1876). Also of interest are regional galleries,
gardens and parks (including the Orange Botanical Gardens), the many
wineries and Ophir Recreation
Reserve, where Australias first payable gold was discovered in 1851.
