The popular Riverina in the south-western region of New South Wales adjacent
to the equally popular Murray region and encompassing the middle to lower
reaches of the Murrumbidgee River Valley makes for a wonderful place to visit.
Depending on what you read, some sources extend the Riverina region to the
Victorian border, and as far east to include
Tumut located on the northern
foothills of the
Snowy
Mountains region.
The Riverina Region offers a huge range of activities, with the usual small rural towns, to the
larger cities of Griffith and Wagga Wagga, heritage buildings, museums and
history, fossicking, fruit-picking, national parks, flora and fauna, Aboriginal
culture, events, local tours and events, there is something for everyone to
enjoy.
