Sydney Olympic Park - Cities, Towns and Localities
Sydney Olympic Park, located in the Homebush Bay region, is Sydney's largest park, offering plenty for the visitor including 30 kilometres of cycling and walking trails, unique wildlife, parklands offering plenty of open and shady spaces, fountains and picnic areas.

Amazing architecture includes the Olympic Park Railway station capable of transporting up to 50,000 people per hour*, Telstra Stadium, The Millennium Dome, and much more.

Since the Sydney Olympics in 2000, this unique site plays host to a large variety of sporting events, as well as a number of other events such as the Sydney Royal Easter Show. There are a number of other popular events from gardening expos to bridal expos. Check the website for current happenings.

Aussie Stadium - Sydney Olympic ParkPrior to the Olympics the region has a long industrial history that included an abattoir, saltworks, brickworks, naval armaments depot and a waste dump. Much of the original area of Homebush Bay had been reclaimed, filled partly with waste that had become highly degraded.

The cleanup of the site included exciting work using nature, such as microbes, reeds, grasses, as well as the re-establishment of original trees and plants**.
