Winburndale Nature Reserve - Cities, Towns and Localities
This 10,050 hectare reserve is just 30 km north east of Bathurst. With an altitude range of 800 m to 1,266 m near Mount Winburndale and the spectacular north/south cliff lines.

The habitats range from low open woodland to open forest and include riverine woodland. Fauna include eastern grey kangaroo, red-neck wallaby, platypus to name just a few. There are a number of Aboriginal sites in and near the reserve.

Winburndale Nature Reserve Distance

Distance to Winburndale Nature Reserve
• From Bathurst access to the northern section of the reserve is via Limekilns and Mount Horrible Road, then Eskdale Road or Palmers Oaky Trail.

The eastern section of the reserve can be reached from the Great Western Highway along the Sunny Corner Road and then along a number of public roads (West Mitchell Road, Cupitts Lane, Eskdale Road and Dark Corner Road) through Sunny Corner and Turon State Forests.

Access to the southern section of the reserve can also be had from the Great Western Highway along Yetholme Drive via a number of public roads through Sunny Corner State Forest.

Whilst most of the western boundary of the reserve and areas adjacent to Winburndale Dam can only be accessed through gated trails within the reserve or through private property or land owned by Bathurst Regional Council, these are often gated and locked. These trails within the reserve are for management purposes and are not available for public vehicle access.
