Woolgoolga is located just over 20 km north of Coffs Harbour, and is a
popular beachside village destination on the Pacific Highway with some of the
best coastal views in New South Wales, with beaches and headlands stretching
north and south. Known as Woopi to the locals, you know you are in Woolgoolga when you see the
wonderful white domes of the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple located in a prominent
position on the hill above the Pacific Highway. Known for its large Sikh
population, whose ancestors arrived around the time of Federation, Woolgoolga is
today a small village with with a great multicultural community.
The village
offers a number of attractions and activities that include the unspoilt beaches,
fishing, swimming, surfing, diving (in the Solitary Islands Marine Park), whale
and dolphin watching.
