Just 24 km north-west along Banjo Paterson Way is the township of
Yeoval. In 1868, gold, silver and copper was discovered about seven
km from Yeoval. The Goodrich Mine operated periodically until 1971.

Paterson (one of Australias famous poets), spent his early
childhood on a local property. The Banjo Paterson Memorial Site is
in the centre of the town. On the east side of town is the Buckinbah
property, where the ruins of the old Paterson home can still be
