Welcome to accommodation for Finke Gorge National Park, the Boggy Hole and Palm
Valley, Northern Territory, Australia. Located some 140 km south west of Alice Springs and 20 km south of
Hermannsburg, the Finke Gorge National Park covers an area of some 46,000
hectares, with a myriad of gorges and gullies that are home to a diverse range
of rare and unique plant species. Most famous of the natural features is Palm Valley
and the Red Cabbage Palm. There are about 12,000 palms in the park, the oldest
being 300 years old, being the
remnants of a tropical rainforest that covered this area 60 million years ago.
Although the park gorge usually appears dry, there are some small pockets of
semi-permanent spring-fed pools.
