Group numbers can be spread to include motel, bunkhouse and camping. Enquire
about our rates and facilities for school and coach groups.
• Room/Bedding:
Range of accommodation including motel style, bunkhouse budget and camping
powered sites facilities with flexible configuration. Sites
to suit all types and sizes of vehicles.
• Facilities:
Motel -
The compact non-smoking motel rooms offer full linen and towels, ensuite
bathrooms and modern reverse cycle air conditioning. The configurations offered
are either queen and single bed or queen and double bunks, enabling up to 4
persons per room.
Bunkhouse - two set bunks per room, max of 4 persons. Separate shared bathrooms.
Camping - Plenty of grass, watered with recycled water is available
to pitch your tents or swags, and most grass areas are supplied with fire pits.
To use these you need to bring your own wood, collected from
outside the Resort and outside the National Park.
Newly upgraded Campground bathrooms now available give campers a quality
facility for their comfort and convenience while staying at Glen Helen.
While camping with us, you can enjoy hot showers, use of a free barbeque and gas
cooker and fridge/freezer, swim in the swimming pool or the Glen Helen Gorge,
relax in the homestead at the bar or in the restaurant, and enjoy free live
entertainment 5 nights per week between April and November.
Please note that BYO alcohol is not permitted in the campground, as we are
licenced only for purchases made on the premises.
• Details:
The motel surrounds an inviting swimming pool, and is also less than 10 minutes
walk from the stunning Glen Helen Gorge Water Hole, which has water in it year
round and is superb and safe for swimming. Guests are often rewarded with
sightings of wildlife including many bird species, rock wallabies, dingoes and
lizards.

clubs.

bring your camping gear or swag for the bunkhouse.
• Facilities:
the camp offers a good clean and tidy camping facilities primarily for school
and youth groups, however all visitors are welcome to use the facilities.

Hamilton Downs is one and a half hours drive from Alice Springs, 25 km off the
Tanami Highway, an all-weather track which is suitable for use by conventional
two-wheel drive vehicles.
Among the attractions are bushwalking (including three self-guided interpretive
nature trails), bird watching, audio guide of the homestead.
Of particular interest for walkers is the seven-hour circuit from the Homestead,
up on to the part of Stage three of the Larapinta Trail, and back “home” via
Fish Hole. This is a moderately difficult walk.
