Mistletoebird
(Dicaeum hirundinaceum)

These distinctive birds have tiny beaks, with the male of the species having the bright scarlet throat and breast, with the under tail coverts also scarlet. The male underside of the belly is white, with a black central stripe, whilst the upper part is a glossy blue-black.

Found in habitat throughout Australia that support the primary food source, the mistletoe, which it is dependent on.
