Chiming Wedgebill
(Psophodes occidentalis)

A distinctive medium size bird with its narrowly pointed upright crest and the distinctive metallic chimes, singing ‘Did you get drunk, did you get drunk’.

It has whitish front and below, with pale sandy-brown above, long brown tail, tipped white.

Distribution stretches from the central west coast of Western Australia, sweeping through Central Australia into the Northern Territory and South Australia. Found in dense thickets of Melaleuca tea-tree and arid Acacia mulga and similar scrublands regions.
