The Historical Society was formed by people seeing a need for the capture of
historical data before it’s lost. It is an area rich in historical information,
including the oldest most preserved indigenous culture of Australia the Yolungu
culture. The site mainly cover European history, although it will be touching on
the Yolungu culture. Whilst the association will be happy to place Yolungu
historical information on the website providing, this is subject to all
appropriate safeguards being taken to guard the rights of Yolungu people and
their heritage.
