Although Central Australia is an arid region, there are often many opportunities
for swimming, boating, paddling, or just relaxing by the waters edge. Whilst
canoe polo is practiced at the local swimming pool, there are many places
throughout the Central Australia region where you can dip your toe in the water,
so to speak. With a number of permanent waterholes, the enticing cool waters on those bright
hot sunny days, entice many a local and tourist.
Ellery Creek Big Hole is a
great location in the West MacDonnell Ranges for a spot of aquatic activity. As
well as the permanent waterhole, there are nearby camping and toilet facilities. |
