Although Central Australia is an arid region, there are often many opportunities
for swimming, boating, paddling, or just relaxing by the waters edge, especially
during periods of rain and flood. Todd River in Alice Springs, provide the
local with a great reason to visit the normally dry river bed, when water is
flowing through the town. However, extreme care needs to be taken, especially
along some parts of the river, where the force of the water can knock you off
your feet and drag you down the river. As well, the force of the water can sweep
trees, logs and rocks in its wake. |
