Wild Flowers of Central Australia
Desert Grevillea
Grevillea juncifolia

The Desert Grevillea, also known as the Honeysuckle Grevillea, Honey Grevillea or the Honeysuckle Spider Flower, is a flowering shrub that can grow up to 6 m high.

With long narrow linear to subterete leaves, the large flowers are borne in erect terminal racemes, and often in clusters. The flowers are a golden yellow to orange.

Often found growing on sand plains, sand hills and dunes, the brightly coloured flowers are quite readily seen from your vehicle as you drive along the highway.

This is a significant plant for the inland indigenous people, the flower providing plenty of nectar.
