Desert Grevillea
Grevillea juncifoliaAlso known as the Honeysuckle Grevillea or the
Honeysuckle Spider Flower, this flowering shrub can grow up to 6 m high.
With long narrow linear to subterete leaves, the large flowers are borne in
erect terminal racemes, and often in clusters. The flowers are a golden yellow
to orange. Often found growing on sand plains, sand hills and dunes, the
brightly coloured flowers are quite readily seen from your vehicle as you drive
along the highway. This is a significant plant for the inland indigenous
people, the flower providing plenty of nectar. |
