The Mulla Mullas are a group of flowering plants also sometimes called Pussytails, due to their distinctive shaped flower heads.

Ptilotus exaltatus, commonly called Tall Mulla Mulla or Pink Mulla Mulla are commonly found growing on rocky slopes, gravelly, clayey or stony plains and sand dunes. The flower spike has a pink to purplish head that extends above the foliage, which lengthens from a conical into a more cylindrical shape.
