This is Australia's largest species known as the Perentie (Varanus giganteus).
Found throughout the arid Central Australian region, central Western Australia and
outback Queensland it can grow up to 2.5 metres in length. It is usually found
in rocky ranges and outcrops, as well as the vast sandy deserts.
