Poached Egg Daisy
(Polycalymma stuartii)

The Poached Egg Daisy can be seen flowering in spring and in years of good autumn / winter rain. A conspicuous flowering plant, often seen in abundance across the Central Australian sand plains and dunes. Can be found growing in the outback regions of the Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Named after John McDouall Stuart, this annual grows up to 50 cm high, has hairy stems, with leaves on the lower part of the stem. The flower appear on a long stem, measuring between 2-4 cm in diameter. Looks spectacular on mass.
