Poached Egg Daisy
The Poached Egg Daisy can be seen flowering in
spring and in years of good autumn / winter rain. A conspicuous flowering plant,
often seen in abundance across the Central Australian sand plains and dunes. Can
be found growing in the outback regions of the Northern Territory, South
Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Named after John McDouall
Stuart, this annual grows up to 50 cm high, has
hairy stems, with leaves on the lower part of the stem. The flower appear on a
long stem, measuring between 2-4 cm in diameter. Looks spectacular on mass.
