Some events happen at the same time throughout Australia, such as Christmas and
New Years Eve celebrations, ANZAC Day, Australia Day, local markets, agricultural shows etc. Some scheduled events only have approximate dates, with some dates changing
or being cancelled.

A day when we
come together to celebrate Australia and being Australian. Celebrations are
nation wide.

ANZAC Day
25th April
This day of
remembrance marks the deaths and sufferings of brave men and women, who lost
their lives in the fight to bring peace and harmony to the world.
It commemorates the landing at Gallipoli in 1915 (during World War I), which saw
men from two countries, Australia and New Zealand, come together and fight as
one, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
The massive loss of life, was deeply felt, and today it is a day we mark as
ANZAC Day: Less We Forget. |

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve
24-31 December
Capital cities
throughout Australia and many of the major cities often put on special events
such as Carol by Candlelight and New Years Eve firework display. Details can
often be found on the local council sites. |

Todd Mall Markets
usually held every 2 weeks on a Sunday. Held weekly in July. Special market
days are also held.
Details:
The Sunday Markets are usually held every two weeks after January and weekly
during July. Managed by the local Council, who also coordinate markets in the
Mall for special events, which are organised separate to the Sunday Markets. The
market is a chance to enjoy the atmosphere and mix with the locals, check out
their wares, purchase Aboriginal art direct from the artists, enjoy the smells
and taste of the food stalls, purchase a souvenir of your holidays. |

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets
last week in April until the end of October:
Thursday 5 pm - 10 pm and Sunday
4 pm - 9 pm
Recognised by the National Trust as
an Icon of National Significance and with a swag of other awards under their
belt, the Mindil Beach Sunset Market continues its advancement of
multiculturalism in the Northern Territory. Managed by a community owned,
incorporated, non-profit association, the markets provides more self-made craft
than any other market in Australia, with over 56 different foods stalls, a huge
range of entertainment, from street theatre, childrens amusements and free
concerts. Iit is easy to see why this market continues to attract visitors from
around the world. |

you need to be a regular annual event held in Australia. When sending us your

- event date or approximate date ie 3 day event late October

- location of the event ie Parkes Showground
- contact details including telephone, freecall number, fax, and email
(where applicable)
- a general brief description of the event.
