The East MacDonnell Range starts from Heavitree Gap and stretching east from Alice Springs
and encompassing Emily Gap, Jessie Gap, Corroboree Rock, Trephina Gorge, Ross
River and N'Dhala Gorge. The ranges is one of the most important areas to
provide refuge for many endemic plants and wildlife. Rich in
flora and fauna, there also a number of introduced species including wildlife
such as donkeys,
camels and horses.

Gorge Nature Park offers a great place for bird watching.
