Ormiston Gorge offers a number of walks of varying length, including the Ghost Gum Lookout Walk that takes you to the lookout platform extending out from the cliff face. There are fantastic views down into Ormiston Gorge and along the escarpment.

Whilst the Ghost Gum Lookout walk can be done in 20 minutes by walking to the lookout and return the same way, you can also continue on pass the lookout and and loop back down into the gorge. This loop walk takes approximately 1.5 hour. For the more adventurous there is the Pound Walk, that is an approximately 3-4 hour loop walk.

You can still see that there was plenty of water from the recent rains having filled and passing through the gorge, a big change from a few months ago. The waterhole itself is near-permanent, and can offer great opportunities for swimming. Swimmers should be aware that most waterholes can be extremely cold and prolonged exposure can result in hypothermia. Swimmers should also be aware of submerged logs and rocks.
