One of Central Australia’s iconic images, are the sandstone
bluffs and cliffs of the
Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve.
Located about 75 km south of Alice
Springs along the Stuart Highway, you then take the left turn onto unsealed
road. A 4 wheel-drive is recommended.
Despite the harsh dry environment,
plants have adapted to this climate. The surrounding area, particularly in the
north-west, are dominated with spinifex and interconnecting claypans. Wonderful
