Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve / Wurre
One of Central Australia’s iconic images, are the sandstone bluffs and cliffs of the Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve.

Located about 75 km south of Alice Springs along the Stuart Highway, you then take the left turn onto unsealed road. A 4 wheel-drive is recommended.

Despite the harsh dry environment, plants have adapted to this climate. The surrounding area, particularly in the north-west, are dominated with spinifex and interconnecting claypans. Wonderful all year round, spring is a great time to see some of the plants and shrubs in flower.
