Located in the West MacDonnell National Park,
Simpsons Gap is one of the more well
known gaps in the West MacDonnell Range, being only 26 km west of Alice
Springs. The historic Simpsons Gap is a natural formation providing scenic
views of the escarpment. The track is a pleasant easy walk from the car park, where visitors
can enjoy the view of a dry river bed that lead out of the gorge, and the steep
walls of the rocky
escarpment which is home to the resident Black-footed Rock Wallabies.
A scenic area, it has been the site for a variety of activity from slideshows,
nocturnal spotlighting and weddings. |
