The track into Simpsons Gap is a pleasant easy walk from the car park, where visitors can enjoy the view of a dry river bed that feed out of the gorge, and the rocky escarpment which is home to the resident Black-footed Rock Wallabies. If there is enough water bull rushes and evidence of aquatic life can be found.

A scenic area, it has been the site for a variety of activity from slideshows, nocturnal spotlighting and weddings.
