Located in the West MacDonnell National Park,
Simpsons Gap is one of the more well
known gaps in the West MacDonnell Range, being only 26 km west of Alice
The track into Simpsons Gap is a pleasant easy walk from the car park, where visitors
can enjoy the view of a dry river bed that feed out of the gorge, and the rocky
escarpment which is home to the resident Black-footed Rock Wallabies.
If there is enough water bull rushes and evidence of aquatic life can be found.
A scenic area, it has been the site for a variety of activity from slideshows,
nocturnal spotlighting and weddings.
