Located in the West MacDonnell National Park,
Simpsons Gap is one of the more well
known gaps in the West MacDonnell Range, being only 26 km west of Alice
Springs. Simpsons Gap and surrounding area, including the often dry river bed
of Roe Creek offers plenty of photographic opportunities. Sometimes you get to
see wildlife, especially if you are quiet and there is no-one else around. The
escarpment provides some interesting landscape photos, with the sun at different
angles through the day. Water can often be found within the Simpsons Gap.
