From the smallest village to the largest city, Australia has many attractions
for the tourist in this continent of diverse landscapes. For information on

The Northern Territory is a vast region that encompassed two very diverse
region, the Top End and the Arid Centre. Both regions is home to the most
populated destinations, the capital Darwin and Alice Springs, the de facto
capital of Central Australia. The rest is made up of smaller towns, roadhouses,
outstations and homelands. Recent action by the Territory government through its
Working Future
blueprint has targeted 20 Indigenous communities to be transformed over time
into Territory Growth Towns, that include Maningrida, Wadeye, Borroloola,
Nguiu, Galiwin'ku, Milingimbi, Ngukurr, Angurugu / Umbakumba, Gunbalanya,
Yirrkala, Numbulwar, Yuendumu, Hermannsburg, Ramingining, Gapuwiyak,
Daguragu / Kalkarindji, Lajamanu, Papunya, Elliott and Ali Curung. Many of the
remote towns are located on Aboriginal land, so contact the main visitor centre
in Darwin or
Alice Springs for
further information.
