The 50th anniversary of the
Henley-On-Todd Regatta was a rip roaring, fun filled event...
This iconic Centralian event is one of the most unique boat races in the world - held as it is on the
Todd River, the
main river through
Central Australia. Indeed, it is the only boat race in the world that has
been cancelled due to water and flooding on the river. This is the Territory's longest running iconic
event and offers the chance of anyone attending to enter in any one of the the
boating inspired races.
Whilst the 'Sand Skis' requires coordination as your team attempts to water
ski across the Todd River, the 'Boogie Board' requires strength and speed. Of
course the board rider needs to cling on for dear life, as the team drags them
over the (sandy) waves, around the slalom course to a turning buoy and back to
the finish line.
