The 50th anniversary of the
Henley-On-Todd Regatta was a rip roaring, fun filled event...
This iconic Centralian event is one of the most unique boat races in the world - held as it is on the
Todd River, the
main river through
Central Australia. Indeed, it is the only boat race in the world that has
been cancelled due to water and flooding on the river. This is the Territory's longest running iconic
event and offers the chance of anyone attending to enter in any one of the the
boating inspired races.
The Tour d'Todd looks like an easy race, but there has been many a tumble
over the years. The race has two crew members in a relay style. One person
cycles to the end end, changes riders and cycles back to the finish line.
