Welcome to Birdsville accommodation, Queensland (QLD), Australia.
This icon of the Australian outback was originally named
Diamantina Crossing in 1881. The name was changed to
Birdsville in 1885 it is believed because the local
billabong was home to such a huge variety of native
birdlife. The township lies between the Simpson Desert and
the gibber plains of Sturt's Stony Desert. It is also the
beginning of the famous Birdsville Track.
