Peregian Beach is a seaside township at the southern most point of the Noosa
region. Peregian Beach was originally inhabited by the Udanbi Aboriginal people,
and is said to mean emu in the local Aboriginal language.
Peregian Beach itself is a long and secluded stretch of sand that is popular
with swimmers, surfers and anglers. The beach front parks and reserves offer
relaxing activities from leisurely walks to picnics and sunbathing. To the south
is Coolum Beach and to the north is Marcus Beach and Castaways Beach.
