St George is a wonderful inland town situated on the mighty Balonne River famous for its Murray Cod and Yellow Belly fishing. Other waterways that contribute to the oasis feel of the town is the Beardmore Dam and more recently the Jack Taylor Weir which provides water for irrigation.
