Beaudesert - Cities, Towns and Localities
Beaudesert was named by a Mr Edward Hawkins after a station in Mudgee (NSW). There are many theories as to the origin of the name none of which can be substantiated for more information click here. The town lies in the Logan River Valley amongst rich grazing lands and has continued to grow into a major tourist region which abounds in natures wonderful attractions.

From rainforests to rugged mountains to peaceful rural bed and breakfasts, all within one hours drive of Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Art Gallery, tea house and craft shop attracting over 8000 visitors each year. Sells souvenirs and crafts and can provide information on the attractions of the surrounding area.
Beaudesert Historical Museum and Information Centre

The Pioneer Cottage, originally built in 1875 by a pioneer on his Kerry property, was given to the society by his grandchildren and rebuilt entirely of hand hewn timbers, slats and shingle roof and furnished with a four-poster bed, large cedar sideboard and numerous articles that portray the life of the early pioneers.
