Beaudesert was named by a Mr Edward Hawkins after a
station in Mudgee (NSW). There are many theories as to the
origin of the name none of which can be substantiated for

here. The town lies in the Logan River Valley amongst
rich grazing lands and has continued to grow into a major
tourist region which abounds in natures wonderful
attractions. From rainforests to rugged mountains to
peaceful rural bed and breakfasts, all within one hours
